79-86 Center
Console Restoration
Step by painful step.
I got a funkified console and brought it back from
the dead.
79-86 Center Console Pad Review
Rounded up a few repro dash pads
and an OEM pad for a review.
79-86
Reproduction Dash Pad Review
I took a hard look at the two
different dash pads that Dashes Direct now offers.
Restoring a 79-93 Map Light
I disassembled (fairly
completely) a map light or three to fix them once
and for all.
Cleaning
I did a write up on
what I use to clean my door panels and such.
Interior Painting/Dyeing
I finally got the courage to take a few pieces and hit
them with the lacquer paint I purchased.
SandBlast Can
I decided to make my own sandblasting container.
Fun project.
Repro asc wing review.
A very nice
reproduction wing made by Rob Hunt.
79-86 Console
Differences
Pulled together some
pictures of most of the console differences from
79-86
Repro Outer Belt
Moulding (Dew Wipe) review.
Decent wether
stripping but the metal trim lacks.
Glove Box Lock
A break down
of the Glove Box Lock.

Non
asc wing. 2
Yet another non
ascMcLaren Spoiler. This is the same as the
one above, except it is not notched for the third
brake light. The owner
got the wing 15 years ago. It was bought it in the Ann Arbor MI area.
It is hard plastic with
2 pieces glued together.

Console Latch
assembly pictures.
I took some pics for
the poor old souls who have never had a working
latch and don't know all the pieces.

85-86 Mustang Capri
Headers
Would you believe
there are like 2 or 3 versions? These are not
flukes nor were they pulled from other cars.
None seems to be any less scarce than the others.

Rear speaker installation.
Picked up some rear 6.5" Kenwoods
(picture 1). The tweeter stuck too far out for
the original speaker covers to fit. So I
picked up some flush mount 6.5" Kenwoods (1668s,
picture 2). They need a couple of holes
drilled to line up the bumps for the speaker covers.
I was amazed that last year speakers were still
designed to accept the 20 year old speaker covers
with absolutely NO modifications (picture 3).
Picture 4 is a comparison of the stock Ford speaker
cutouts and the one asc used. Pictures 5 and
six was some connectors I rigged up so I didn't have
to cut the stock Ford wiring.
